Getting Ready For The Journey

Getting ready for a trip starts months in advance. As soon as one trip is over…plans are underway for the next…with the goal of making a difference in the lives of the nuns, elderly, and girls we serve in Honduras. Eight volunteers from our parish will spend June 10-17,  living, working, playing and praying with the residents of our sister project in Santa Rosa de Copán. For the June 2013 trip, we will be bringing medicine (courtesy of  the Shea family), blankets, cards, and journals  made by the parish school children during “Go Forth to Serve” day, as well as educational materials and supplies. These items were packed with love by volunteers this past Monday evening. Additionally, we will  bring charitable contributions from our parishioners that help with operating expenses in each home, funding of high school education, and tutoring for the girls.  Thank you for supporting OUR PARISH mission and for helping to give HOPE and SOLACE to our friends in Honduras – pray for the safety of the team this week and follow their journey on this blog!
