Packing Night 2016

Parishioners helped prepare and pack donations, gifts and items to be used by the team while in Honduras this past Monday. Our project relies on MANY hands to support our project in Honduras. Some of the items packed were fleece blankets made by our parish school children; books; medicine; shoes and more. The following parishioners are traveling to our mission in Honduras June 18-25 to pray, play, live and work in solidarity with the residents of each home we support: Mallory Hickey, Jane Rall, Jason Roberts, Magda Snyder and Barb Trum. The team will be celebrating with 27 of the girls as some will be baptized, receive 1st Communion as well as Confirmation. Additionally, the team will host a devotion to Mary, share pen pal letters from our students and spend time with the elderly in recreational activities. We will bring donations from our parishioners that support education, operations funds for each home as well as will help improve the kitchen in the orphanage and a recreation room in the elderly home. Please pray for our travelers and especially for those we seek to serve – the girls in the orphanage, nuns and elderly!!

Group PackingMost Loving God,
Shine your light down on the people in Honduras and let them always feel the warmth of Your love. While they may be lacking in material things, we ask that You bless them with the joy and peace that only You can provide. Guide our thoughts, words and actions as we work together on this mission project so it is Your work and Your purpose we strive to accomplish. May our hearts forever be changed as we witness Your presence and love and may we be inspired by the faith of those we seek to serve in Honduras. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
