The buzz, laughter and chaos of packing night always creates an exciting sendoff for our team! Monday, June 4 was no different – many hands, big and small, helped to pack donations, gifts and program items for our friends in Honduras. Our parish school children made fleece blankets on Go Forth to Serve Day that will be distributed to the girls and elderly at our project as well as to those who visit a nearby food kitchen and to pregnant women at a local shelter. Newborn supply bags prepared on our fist annual Parish Serve Day will be given to expectant mothers at the shelter. The American Heritage Girls collected funds during the parish Lenten fish fry dinners and used these funds to create a bag of personal hygiene items along with small gifts for each girl at the Hogar de Niñas. Small bookmarks with St. Michael the Archangel medals created by parishioners at the Parish Serve Day were packaged with books and holy cards for all of the nuns and girls. Our Companions in Faith collected toiletries for us to pack as well. Additionally, parishioners donated medicine, backpacks, beanie babies, and hand-made St. Michael the Archangel bracelets. We are SO grateful for the contributions of SO many that help to support our parish mission in Honduras. Please pray for those we seek to serve in Honduras along with the parishioners traveling this week: Lynn Pollock, Mike Pollock, Jane Rall, Magda Snyder and Robin Snyder.
