Packing and Preparation!

IMG_3158

In June, volunteers helped to pack over 650 lbs. of donations, gifts and program materials. These items include blankets made by our parish school children, medicine purchased with donations from the American Heritage Girls as well as the Knights of Columbus, welcome baby bags assembled on the parish serve day and so much more.

The trip scheduled for June was postponed and now our team of parishioners including Sharon Costello, Emily Koca, Julie Koca, Todd Koca, Lynn Pollock, Jane Rall, Magda Snyder and Robin Snyder are heading to Santa Rosa de Copàn Aug. 5-11 with much excitement and enthusiasm.

Each trip is carefully planned to help continue our mission to bring hope and solace to the residents of each home and to those we meet in the local community. These parishioners act as stewards of the St. Michael the Archangel parish to cultivate a charitable, spiritual and cultural relationship.

Our parish impacts each home by supporting education, health and wellness initiatives and improving the overall dignity of care for the residents of the elderly and girls homes.

Read the blog all this week as the team lives in solidarity with those we seek to serve! ¡Paz y bien!

Most Loving God,

Shine your light down on the people in Honduras and let them always feel the warmth of Your love. While they may be lacking in material things, we ask that You bless them with the joy and peace that only You can provide. Guide our thoughts, words and actions as we work together on this mission project so it is Your work and Your purpose we strive to accomplish. May our hearts forever be changed as we witness Your presence and love and may we be inspired by the faith of those we seek to serve in Honduras. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen
