Another Thankful Day
Reflecting back on our day, it was quite busy. After our breakfast and prayer time, we went to mass at the Hogar de Niñas with the Sors and some of the girls who go to school only in the afternoon. It was the priest’s birthday so we helped them celebrate with coffee and cake – Muy Delicioso!
We then took a tour of the house to show our newbies how St. Michael’s has helped them with improvements over the years. They are so grateful for our involvement and express their gratitude to all the St. Michael’s parishioners everyday.

The highlight for us on the team today was taking the Sors out to lunch in one of the local Honduran restaurants. It was a delight to treat them to a meal and thank them for all of their hospitality. They truly serve us day in and day out so it was nice to reciprocate a bit. Again the joy and laughter we share every time we sit down for a meal is such a gift to each of us – we are grateful!
We made a quick trip to the local coffee shop to buy extra coffee after lunch and then spent the rest of the afternoon doing crafts and playing games with the girls. We ended our afternoon activities by saying the rosary together which is something the girls do every day. Even though we can’t keep up with their Spanish we are thankful to pray along with them.
We had typical Honduran tacos and soup with the Sors for dinner and shared memories from the past trips – more laughing of course. We are certainly grateful that the evening brought a cool breeze, a break in the heat, and look forward to our last day with them all tomorrow.
