While this team packed last Monday, the planning started months ago! Generous parishioners have helped us gather bedding for the elderly home, backpacks, school supplies, books and umbrellas for the home for girls, carnival themed items for a grand celebration planned with all of the residents – yes, there will be a clown:) and small gifts and items to share with our friends that have become like family! The purpose of our trips is to help build a spiritual, cultural and charitable relationship to answer Christ’s call to love and serve one another. Please join us this week in prayer for all those this team will encounter including the sisters that manage both homes, the residents (elderly, young ladies) and all those that help make these homes possible. Additionally, please lift up our team from SMA – Dani de León, Alyson Jones, Jessica Kozel, John Kozel, Lynn Pollock, Michelle Prier, and Jill Winters.
Most Loving God, You are the master of all creation and we stand in awe of the gifts and graces you have bestowed on us and on those we seek to serve.
We ask you to shine your light down on the people in Honduras and let them always feel the warmth of Your love. We are especially grateful for the beautiful gift of the nuns, girls, and elderly that we accompany at our parish mission. May they continue to inspire us with their faith, resilience, and unwavering devotion to You.
Guide our thoughts, words, and actions as we work together on this mission project so it is Your work and Your purpose we strive to accomplish. May our hearts forever be changed as we witness Your presence and love. We ask this through Christ, Our Lord, Amen.
