Our day started with a pre-dawn Mass (even before the roosters woke us) with the Sors and our final goodbyes. Fr. Brian headed back to Kansas and the remainder of the group proceeded on a seven hour drive through the mountains to our next destination to Casa Del Niño in Tegucigalpa (the capital of Honduras).

Through the generously of SMA, we have been able to assist in helping this house with nutrition, education and capital improvements – our continued outreach with the Sors is making a difference for the niñas here in Tegucigalpa.

Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the niñas and Sors, many who we have met through our years in Santa Rosa.

Although a bit tired from our journey, we were quickly immersed in their daily lives. New names were to be learned and we simply enjoyed the remainder of the day, talking, playing games and simply being present. Although there may have been a language barrier, you would never know (the language of love has no barriers).
After a beautiful Rosary in the courtyard with the girls and a few mosquitos, we had a traditional Honduran dinner, our nightly reflection and early to bed.
¡Buenas noches! – Miguel
