Our mission team had a joyful day at the elderly home and the girls home in Santa Rosa, Honduras. We began the morning with breakfast shared with the Sisters at the elderly home, followed by morning Mass at the chapel with many of our elderly friends and the Sors. It is fantastic to see Father Brian in action here in Honduras! After Mass the team split up, some unpacking the team suitcases, a few mingling with the elderly, and others making a run to pickup a few items the team will need. We then joined the Sisters at the Elderly home for lunch. And then we prayed the a Rosary novena in celebration of their religious order and their founder, Mother Paula.
In the afternoon, our group was greeted excitedly at the Hogar de Niñas. Some of the team stayed to play games with the younger girls, while others took a group of eight girls who will be celebrating their quinceañeras out for shopping and coffee! Another Novena Rosary was celebrated with the Niñas in the chapand lots of basketball, soccer, and volleyball was played! We ended the day with dinner shared with the Sisters at the girls home followed by our group reflection at the casita.
