Our day started off helping the 9 young ladies who have or will very soon turn 15. We had so much fun styling hair, applying makeup, and pinning on crowns as they chose special dresses to celebrate their Quinceanera. Dressing up for a special day doesn’t happen often like it does in the United States and it was heartwarming to see their excitement and joy. They are such grateful, thoughtful girls.
We celebrated mass in the beautifully decorated chapel at the girls’ home. We each were invited process in with one of the girls and during the mass each consecrated themselves to Jesus through Mary. It truly was Beautiful! After mass we danced and laughed until our hearts were full. And of course we had cake. To top off the party the Sisters involved the girls in a fun, exciting game of soccer in the courtyard. We all went to bed exhausted and joy filled.
