Paz, amor y salud love, and health to you today on this beautiful day in Santa Rosa.
It has been raining steadily while the team has been here. It’s interesting to me how each of us reacts differently to the rain: we each have different opinions. Is it good? Is it bad? Is it an annoyance? Is it beautiful? Or does it just get in the way of our activities? And yet, I look at the sisters, the elderly, and the young girls as they, too, watch the rain. Always, it is from God. Que Bueno!

Today, the team was very busy. We started our day with the elderly, helping them paint pictures. We got to give gifts to the sisters, and they were filled with such gratitude for such simple things. The funniest thing, at least so far today, has been the farm-to table- turkey we enjoyed! Some of us got a hoot watching the video of the turkey enjoying its last few minutes on the planet; others of us could not bear to watch. But we all laughed and laughed. (One of the ways the sisters honor their guests is to kill one of the turkeys that they raise on the property. It is truly the best tasting turkey I have ever tasted!)

This afternoon, we worked with the girls to update information for the pen pal program at SMA, questions included their favorite subjects in school as well as what they hope to be when they grow up; they were very patient with us as we made sure to get each of their photos.
Finally, on a very personal note, I want to thank everyone who has been praying for my mother, who was admitted to the hospital day before yesterday she is surrounded by excellent care and family, and your prayers have made a significant difference. Tomorrow will be our last day, and while I am looking forward to returning home to my family, a part of me is already missing this very special place.
