St. Michael the Archangel Honduras Mission Project

Hola Amigos,

Following our breakfast at the Ancianos, we joined Padre Brian in the chapel for morning prayer and the gospel reading for the day (Matthew 10:7-15). We took time to reflect on the message…darkness is overcome by the true light of Christ…now go and be His light. 

We then headed to the Hogar de Ninas for mass. Following Mass, Mike and Diego prepared the courtyard for an afternoon of friendly futbol drills and team competition.  While they prepared for futbol, Karina led the girls in doing a craft of making necklaces from decoupage clay. The girls are so creative and artistic, and they had so much fun. 

After lunch, we began with our version of World Cup Futbol with the girls and Sors. We had 4 teams. The captains were Padre Brian (team Estrella’s), Sor Deysi (team Messi), Sor Ali (team Las Aguilas), and Sor Rosa (team Las Ronaldas). The overall winner was team Las Ronaldas.  Following the drill competition, they played a very lively game of Futbol.  Of course, Padre Brian’s team won. 

We finished the evening praying the rosary with the girls in their chapel.
